This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Upon arrival we were given a room with two full size beds instead of a king size as we booked. Once we viewed the room, we had to return to the reception desk to change it to the correct room and they made sure that we had to wait a long time to get it. The correct room smelled like mold and looked very outdated in comparison the pictures shown on the website. Once the luggage arrived, we decided to take showers.

I arrived at RIU Cancun with great recommendations from my travel agent and others who had stayed there before. I found the place to be rundown, dirty and crowded with partying spring-breakers. My travel agent told me the beaches had just been redone but I learned upon arrival that the beaches along the "long side" of the Hotel Zone have been renourished The beach was tiny and narrow with wall-to-wall lounge chairs. I was told that guests under 25 had to be accompanied by adults.
